This page explains the business case used for the catalogue.
Modern Nest Co. is a sample furniture business used for this catalogue project. The idea is to present a store that sells living room, dining room, bedroom, office, storage, and outdoor furniture through a front-end website. The site is built so a customer can browse products, open detailed product pages, compare options such as material or finish, and use forms to request pricing or send a message. Product information is stored in a JSON file instead of a database, which keeps the project simple to update. The business case works well for this assignment because furniture items naturally have multiple options, the catalogue can be grouped by room, and the pages support visual design, media, forms, responsive layout, and help documentation in one complete site.
The catalogue includes 20 products. Each product has at least two option groups, such as colour, material, size, finish, or configuration. The site also includes seasonal themes, videos, a help wiki, and two JavaScript API features. The overall goal is to show a realistic product catalogue that could be expanded later without changing the basic structure of the site.
